The underground Pirate ride was quite good, but a pity some of the lights didn’t work inside, and look at the litter around those slimmer’s of the year.
Well, despite a terrible start to the camp, having to cancel Friday night due to the rain, It was BRILL!!!!!!!!
The whole camp went to Drayton Manor Park for the day on Saturday, and apart from a couple of showers, the weather stayed fine, we just got wet on the rides!!
Speaking of which, I bit the bullet and went on Stormforce 10, believe me , that was quite an achievement for me. The first ride my group went on was the spinning barrels, made Tracey feel well dizzy. The haunted mansion was a bit tame, but the moving bit at the end was very disorientating.
Sunday saw the Cubs take part in archery and abseiling, the assault course and various games. Monday was similar with lots of games and activities, including another round over the assault course which included teams taking a bucket of water over the course and trying not to spill any. Monday teatime and evening was spent at a 100th birthday party for Scouting, with lots of party food, it was a pleasure to welcome our past Scoutmaster and supporter, Peter Shaw to the celebrations. Sunday and Monday saw plenty of sunshine for the camp, which made a welcome change, and thankfully Tuesday as well, as we were able to put away the tents dry.
The Buffalo ride was cool, apart from the first rain shower arriving just as the ride started, and there was Tracey going round with her eyes shut and hitting me on the arm every time it went round a curve.
